LettUs Grow® is a Bristol based startup designing hardware, software and services for indoor farms. Our mission is to reduce the waste and carbon footprint of fresh produce by enabling anyone to grow delicious food at or near its point of consumption.

At LettUs Grow®, our diverse team of engineers and horticulturists collaborate to design the next generation of technology for the indoor farming industry. Since its foundation in 2015, the company has been developing an industry-leading aeroponic system, with integrated control software, to increase crop yields, reduce farm operating costs and make farmers’ lives easier. We are now entering an exciting period of business growth, establishing larger scale trials in both greenhouses and vertical farms, before delivering sales to indoor farms around the UK and Europe.

Role Description:

As an Operations Officer at LettUs Grow, you will report directly to our Operations Director. In your role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our startup continues to scale efficiently through correct implementation of processes and providing support to both the R&D and commercial units within our business.

You can expect to be delegated responsibility at an early stage and will have a real opportunity to progress as the company scales. This role is ideal for a diligent, personable applicant who is keen to grow with an impact-led startup.

Your responsibilities:

Customer Service Support

  • Respond to incoming customer enquiries of varying complexity, working with our engineering team to move these down our sales process

  • Work with the Operational Director to formalise company procedures and ensure they are implemented correctly

  • Help to manage and maintain content for the company website

  • Help to produce professional sales documentation in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Internal Operations

  • Work with the Operational Director to update and maintain company policies

  • Work with all teams to ensure all spends are correctly filed and stored

  • Manage the LettUs Grow office space, ensuring that:

    • Necessary office equipment is procured within budget

    • Utility contracts are renewed on time

    • All new staff are on-boarded effectively

  • Work with our Financial Director to ensure efficient company bookkeeping.

What you need:

  • Prior experience in a customer service or operations focused role

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with other members of the team to take ownership of problems and ensure effective resolutions

  • Proficient across Microsoft Office packages and email

  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of professionalism at all times

Also desirable:

  • 2+ year’s experience in a customer service or operations focused role

  • Prior experience working within an agricultural or engineering environment

The position can be full-time or part-time, is based in central Bristol and will benefit from training and external mentoring.
