Introduction from Jack Farmer, co-founder, Chief Scientific Officer & Director in charge of Impact

2023 was a year of transition for LettUs Grow, marking a shift from mainly delivering container farm pilot projects, to full focus on delivering our Aeroponic Rolling Bench products to hectare scale growers, working with our valued commercial partners around the world. Not only does this mark a maturation of our commercial strategy, it also represents a real opportunity to maximise our positive environmental impact at a global scale.

LettUs Grow has always focused on developing aeroponic systems, grounded in novel intellectual property & innovation in the pretty complex interactions between ultrasonic, aeroponic & plant sciences. The decision to since adopt a license-first strategy in 2024 has enabled us to maximise the impact of our IP, without the embedded carbon required to build out a new, global supply chain. Instead we can work with our partners to deliver even more value from their existing manufacturing facilities. Aside from meaningful strategic decisions, teams across LettUs Grow have been focused on practical improvements in our social, economic & environmental impact on our wider community.

Our focus in 2023 was on making concrete improvements to the impact of our internal operations (scope 1 & 2) to ensure that positive impact was culturally embedded throughout our organisation, whilst continuing to align with our values as a B Corp. To support this process we’ve continued to invest in our team & processes, proudly progressing towards securing ISO9001 status in 2024.

We continue to aim for achieving Net Zero operations by 2027, whilst ensuring our business model is ethical by design. This latter point is really critical during negotiation of our partnerships across the globe, with our team becoming only ever more laser-focused on maximising productivity improvements to growers, minimising energy usage, & materially reducing the carbon (& water) cost per kg of aeroponic fresh produce.

I hope you enjoy this report & track our improvements year on year. Please send us any recommendations on activities or data transparency - we always want to improve where we can!
