What does the future hold for British Farming?

LettUs Grow are excited to be attending Westminster Insight’s timely Future of Farming Conference next month. On the agenda for the conference is an examination of policy landscape, the implications of Brexit and the Agriculture Bill.

Key speakers will be exploring how new technologies, consumer trends and environmental concerns are impacting the farming community, allowing attendees to learn more about the innovative approaches taken to ensure a more progressive, profitable and sustainable environment for British farmers.

We’ll be hearing from the following industry leaders:

• William Bain, Policy Advisor - Europe and International, British Retail Consortium & former Member of Parliament

• Andrew Griffiths, Head of Value Chain Sustainability, Nestlé UK&I

• Patrick Holden CBE, Director, Sustainable Foods Trust

• Andrew Swift, CEO, Fera

• Richard Perkins, Food, Agriculture and Land Use Specialist, WWF

• Iris Krebber, Head of Agriculture and Land, Department for International Development (DFID)

Patrick Holden CBE, Director at Sustainable Foods Trust, will offer practical solutions to harmonising agriculture and environmentalism to ensure we lower the carbon footprint. William Bain from the British Retail Consortium will explore how the UK can balance high farming standards with profitability and competitiveness with overseas markets.

Experts from the sector will discuss the sustainability of current methods and progress towards a more sustainable system for farmers, reviewing the trend towards organic, ethically sourced and plant-based products, and the impacts on farmer’s production plans.

Of course, at LettUs Grow we believe that indoor and vertical farming could be key to the development and security of the future of British farming – so keep an eye out for us at the event, and let’s discuss!
